At ESC we believe in the freedom of choice.
Life is full of choices, and the same applies to your packaging. We are proud to be able to bring you environmental choices with all of our packaging solutions. The rest is up to you.
Materials
We offer papers and films from virgin to fully recycled, and made from post-consumer & industrial waste materials. In many instances you can choose the percentage of recycled material you want us to use – from 5% to 100% of the overall raw material content. We also supply completely organic cotton & canvas fabric bags as well as Jute & Hessians, Nylon and finally durable NWPP fabrics. Alternatively, we bring you a totally polythene free alternative called mater-Bi. This product offers many of the same properties as polythene yet is a naturally grown maize starch bag. For more information on all of these please read the links at the foot of this page.
Degradable/Biodegradable materials
All products we supply are degradable, though they degrade at varying rates depending on environmental conditions. We work with selected manufacturers throughout the world, offering environmental solutions such as small runs of polythene packaging with EPI content. Larger volumes of polythene (orders of 3000Kg or more) we can utilise Eco-plus additive which is a more sophisticated form of additive offering a more accurate timescale for the degredation process. For more information on this biodegradable additive, visit http://www.epi-global.com and www.epi-global.com
The environment and the law
Packaging legislation may have a significant impact on your business. Why not visit www.netregs.gov.uk/netregs/275207/275453/ for more advice. And of course, watch the developments as the Prime Minister steps into the ongoing debate over polythene supermarket vest style bags!
Transport
We support UK manufacturers wherever possible to limit the carbon footprint of your packaging. If importing is necessary, we use ocean shipping rather than airfrieght as a general rule, however we will utilise air couriers if instructed to do so by our clients.
