Foodgrade polythene bags and sacks are made with HDPE or LDPE virgin film, this ensures they are hygienic and suitable for direct food contact.
ESC offers a wide choice of bag styles, from vacuum pouches or bread bags to butchers counter bags.
We offer bags on a roll, dispenser packs, wicketted, block headed for easy hang up behind a busy counter, ESC will make your bags to suit your needs.
Flexo printed with rubber printing plates for small order volumes or gravure engraved cylinders for larger orders.
We use water based pantone inks and can even offer CMYK printing which is mostly suited to larger order sizes due to the associated set up costs.
With all flexographic printed products, each colour printed and side printed will require a rubber plate to be made. Each plate carries a charge. This is why adding extra ink colours onto a flexographically printed bag costs extra up front.
Unlike litho plates, we keep the flexo rubber plates for re-use so the upfront set up charge only applies to the first order. The plates keep well and can be used for many years to come.
The screen ruling for designs with tints and tonal elements is 55 LPI so shaded areas are best kept to a minimum as the dots can be quite visible to the naked eye and are not fine like digital or litho prints.
The most popular size counter bag is 25cm x 30cm (10 inches x 12 inches).
The smallest possible size is : 15cm wide x 20cm high.
Largest possible size is: 90cm wide x 120cm high

The minimum will depend on the bag size. Our minimum order is 250Kg of film, so the smaller bags will have higher order volume requirements.
ESC offer a 8 week or 16 week delivery option.
We can’t include recycled content in foodgrade products due to contamination risks, but we can include an additive in the film that will assist with the bag’s degradation, rendering the material non toxic and inert once it has degraded.
We consolidate orders into containers and share space with other UK importers so all ESC orders for these products benefit from consolidated freight, reducing individual order’s carbon footprint as much as possible.
