Jute, also known as hessian, is a robust material sourced from a highly sustainable easy to grow crop. The material has a rough course texture, which is it’s appeal. It has an open weave which means it’s best suited to bold colourful simple designs with lots of chunky solid lines. Any fine elements of the design will just disappear into the weave so for any fine artworks it’s better to use juco instead. We can screen print edge to edge using pantones for all bespoke made to order bags. For our faster delivery options, where we overprint stock bags, the area does need to be restricted away from the edges of the bags for the best results. We carry a small selection of jute bags to quickly print for customers who can’t wait for a bespoke production. This changes monthly so it’s best to check with us what is currently available.

For bespoke made orders, our factories can print one or both faces of the bags and if there is a side gusset, we can print that too. For the overprinted stock options, we can print a restricted area on one or both sides of the bag.
Popular sizes include 39cm wide x 15cm side x 35cm high which is a stock size we can overprint here however for the longer lead time bespoke made to order solution, any size is possible.
For our stock bags that we overprint, we are sorry but finishing touches are not possible. They are already made and so cannot be amended.

For our overprinted stock, fast delivery option we start at 100 bags.
For bespoke made to order solutions, we start at 250 bags for natural undyed material and from 1000 bags for special dyed colours, although we do have dark blue, red, burgundy, dark green and black jute available, pre-dyed, and we can produce from 250 using these stock shades.
Our standard lead time is 18-20 weeks for the best prices although a fastrack service is possible for delivery within 8 weeks.
Jute is an easy to grow crop and is highly sustainable. It hard wonderful longevity and the bags can last many years if kept clean and dry.
Our factories are carefully audited to the highest standards, to SEDEX or the equivalent. While the bags are imported we are careful to choose sea and train routes to our local port, Grangemouth, and we try to consolidate orders so they don’t travel alone. This helps to keep the carbon footprint as low as possible.
