HDPE foodgrade sheets are popular with butchers in particular as they offer peace of mind, particularly when wrapping uncooked raw meats with high moisture. They are super to use to line mail order boxes or use as a box topper, offering a damp proofing layer within the box. These foodgrade HDPE sheets can be branded upto 3 ink colours and are suitable for direct contact with food.
Gravure printed using water based inks with metal cylinders.
With all flexo / gravure printed products, each colour printed and side printed will require a metal cylinder to be made. Each cylinder carries a charge. This is why adding extra ink colours onto a flexo or gravure printed product costs extra up front.
Unlike litho plates, we keep the cylinders for re-use so the upfront set up charge only applies to the first order. They keep well and can be used for many years to come.
The screen ruling for designs with tints and tonal elements is 75 LPI so shaded areas are best kept to a minimum as the dots can be quite visible to the naked eye and are not fine like digital or litho prints.
The most popular size is 10 inches wide x 15 inches tall or in metric 25cm x 37.5cm. However we can actually supply massive sheets too, suitable for lining a car boot or a box.
These sheets can be supplied loose in a box, or on a roll, or counter top packed in a dispenser poly pack or box, they can also come on a block header with 2 holes to hang up. Have it your way!
They can be embossed or smooth finished.
The minimum order is by weight. Ideally we need over 700Kg of material. For example the MOQ for a standard butcher sheet 25cm x 37.5cm x 50 micron works out at approx 100,000 sheets.
Our fastest lead time is 10 weeks but most of our factories require 16 weeks to supply and some even have lead times as long as 20 weeks (the pricing is fabulous!)
This is a polymer based product so is oil based. The Inks are water based.
It is not a UK production.

Note that as with all flexographically made products, there is a 10% tolerance allowed on the final quantity made and we always charge for the exact number produced.
